Our feedback from our audience, mainly people in our class and our teacher have all looked at our movie trailer and given us feedback on the direction that we should now take the trailer, poster and magazine in.
The first thing that people said is that the trailer wasn't that scary, it had atmosphere with all of the shots that were taken from the rear of the car, but nothing physically scary that they jumped at. Our idea, which is an accumulation of a few peoples ideas is to include a third character, a murderer, that will act as the horror to the film. We can introduce him in several ways, all of which we will try out, with some of the ideas including a second car driving around and a glove scene - preparing for the murders. Both of these ideas involve adapting the storyline that we already have, from a couple that go out for a night at the pub and then encounter some odd things on the way home to the new storyline of them being murdered. Both Tom and Myself feel that this gives the story more of a punch and will definitely improve the final outcome.
Another suggestion is the name. Originally the film was meant to relate to the pub a lot more, but now the storyline has been changed and adapted several times the pub isn't really included in the film trailer much, so we have decided to change the name, the ideas that we've come out with so far include 'The Gear Shift Killer' and 'The Seatbelt Strangler', although these names aren't amazing, they do however stick in your head, are quite catchy and would make the film fit in a lot more with the Horror genre.
There are a few smaller details that both Tom and myself both think we should change. One of them is the use of titles, and other visual effects for the film, filming alone won't be enough to get a creepy, horror style of fear across to the audience, this will require myself to learn a few more techniques on Lightworks, the video editor we have decided to use for our film trailer.
